Queenstown meeting roundup: finances, fireworks, dredging request and infrastructure updates

The town clerk reported the following fund balances: General Fund $83,884.89; Water/Sewer Fund $48,461.57; ARPA Fund $592,135.52.
Permitting for the Fireworks / QVFD Fair is complete; the event is scheduled for Sept. 12 with a rain date of Sept. 13. Events Committee said it is pursuing a combined Fall Festival with the QVFD Ladies Auxiliary on Oct. 11 and discussed the tree‑lighting and a cookie walk for the weekend after Thanksgiving.
Bayland submitted a Water Quality Certification request to the Maryland Department of the Environment on Aug. 6 as required under the Clean Water Act before the Corps may issue a federal channel dredging permit; the town is awaiting MDE review.
Public Works reported no update on the I&I project. Rauch is preparing a phased scope and budget for the water tank and infrastructure project; staff emphasized the scope must be consistent with the approved amended PER and that bid procedures apply when bids exceed obligated funds. At Queenstown Harbor, staff discovered meter fittings dissimilar to other town meters and recommended contacting Steve Roberson Plumbing for inspection before disconnecting fittings.
During public comment, resident Di Quynn‑Reno asked whether cameras or lighting are present at the landing and plant entrance and whether ARPA funds were obligated; the commission said ARPA funds have been obligated to the Old Wharf Lane I&I Project. Bayshore Soccer Club donated a hand‑painted picnic table that was installed in the Community Park on Aug. 3.
