Queenstown held a public hearing on June 18 on Ordinance 25-042, the proposed general budget for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2025. The ordinance, listed in the agenda as eligible for adoption, includes tax-rate language and an eight percent increase to the town's monthly water and sewer consumption rates.
Town Manager Amy Moore said the proposed real-property and commercial/personal-property tax rates are unchanged from the prior year, and that the public-utilities assessment would increase from $2.00 to $2.50 per $100 of assessed value. Public commenter Peter Robertson asked how the rates compared with last year; Moore responded that the real-property and personal-property rates remain the same and that the higher public-utilities rate reflects the change noted in the ordinance.
The ordinance text on the agenda also references the water and sewer enterprise budget and the 8% consumption-rate increase. The commission did not record a formal adoption vote of Ordinance 25-042 in the transcript of this meeting.
Following the public comment period, President Al Hardee moved to adjourn the public hearing at 6:06 p.m.; Commissioner Bryon Callahan seconded. The regular meeting resumed afterward. The commission listed Ordinance 25-042 as eligible for adoption under Old Business; no adoption vote appears in the meeting record provided.
Next steps noted on the agenda included continued review under Old Business; any formal adoption or a vote on rates would be reflected in a subsequent meeting notice and minutes.
