The Hastings City commission approved a façade improvement grant for 214 Ramsey Street under resolution "20 26 0 7."
A staff member told commissioners the city received an application from property owner Scott Sinclair seeking assistance to repair and replace damaged brick and to perform tuckpointing on mortar joints along the southeast and north sides of the building. The project’s eligible costs total just over $34,000, the staff member said, and the program provides an award equal to one-third of the total project cost or up to $5,000, whichever is lower.
The staff member also said that before this grant the city had committed just over $12,000 for the year; approving this application would raise committed funds to roughly $17,000 and leave about $32,650 available for the remainder of the year. Commissioners asked no follow-up questions on the item, a motion was made, and the chair called for the aye vote; the resolution carried by voice vote.
The grant will proceed under the program rules described by staff; the commission did not record a roll-call tally in the transcript.
