After returning from a closed session on personnel matters, the chair moved to add the retirement acceptance and the superintendent's evaluation status to the agenda. Trustees voted to record the superintendent's evaluation as "effective," enabling the district to use an effective rating for a third consecutive year. Trustees then moved to accept Smith's retirement letter, effective Dec. 31, 2026. Board members offered thanks and congratulations during the discussion.
