Boxholm council approves mailing to residents and new cameras after park vandalism

The notice will be mailed to Boxholm residents and posted at the park, the post office, City Hall, the Community Building and Security Savings Bank. The council said it will also proceed with installing security cameras at the park to help deter future incidents and to document vandalism if it recurs.
Mayor Sue Shreve and other council members described the vandalism as an ongoing community concern; the council agreed the steps are intended to improve surveillance and resident awareness. The motion approved only the mailing and camera installation; the record indicates the council did not adopt an enforcement ordinance or specify a vendor during the meeting.
The council asked staff to carry out the mailing and return with details about camera placement and estimated costs at a future meeting.
