The presenter attributed a modest net revenue increase to a last-minute adjustment in ACT 18 funds and noted a $17,500 increase in gas and diesel costs that affected 2025–26 expense projections. For 2026–27 the presenter incorporated a $250 assumed increase to the foundation allowance and estimated a small net revenue increase of roughly $17,000.
The presenter said a primary driver of higher spending in the 2026–27 draft is an approximately $150,000 increase to open additional ASD (autism spectrum disorder) special-education classrooms; the district expects partial state reimbursement (roughly 28–29 percent) and plans to bill regional partners for excess costs when applicable. The presenter also described a one-time athletics capital purchase (wrestling mats) removed from recurring expenses and a $90,000 food-service indirect recovery that will not be carried into the 2026–27 general fund.
Board members asked clarifying questions during the hearing and the board voted to adopt the final 2025–26 resolutions and the initial 2026–27 resolutions as presented. The motions carried by voice vote.
