The Mannington Township Committee voted on Jan. 22 to adopt Ordinance No. 19-03 on first reading, approving a redevelopment plan for the Salem Hospital property and setting a public hearing for Feb. 7, 2019 at 6:30 p.m. The motion to adopt the ordinance on first reading was made by Committee member Patrick and seconded by Mayor Asay; the roll call was Asay — yes, Patrick — yes, Emel — absent.
The Committee reviewed a letter from the Planning Board indicating the board had reviewed the redevelopment plan and voted to support and approve it as presented without recommending any changes. The ordinance is recorded as Ordinance No. 19-03 and, per the Committee action, proceeds to a public hearing where members of the public may comment before further action.
Committee members did not record any amendments to the plan during the meeting. The next procedural step is the scheduled public hearing on Feb. 7, 2019 at 6:30 p.m., at which the Committee may consider public testimony and votes required for second reading or adoption.
The meeting minutes record the vote totals and the public hearing date; no public comment was offered at the Jan. 22 meeting.
