Mannington committee approves farmland easement for 81-acre Vittori property

The Mannington Township Committee on May 2 adopted a resolution granting final approval for acquisition of a development easement on property owned by Joel and Faith Vittori (Block 21, Lot 3), approximately 81.08 acres, under the State Agriculture Retention and Development Act.
The State Agriculture Development Committee certified a fair market value for the development easement at $5,100 per acre on Feb. 28, 2019. Based on the estimated acreage the committee recorded an estimated cost-sharing breakdown of State $248,104.80, Mannington Township $4,135.08, and Salem County $161,268.12, for a total estimated cost of $413,508.00. The resolution states the figures are subject to final acreage confirmation by survey and any statutory adjustments.
The resolution specifies no exceptions, no non-agricultural uses, one dwelling permitted, and no residual dwelling site opportunities. Upon receipt of funds from the County and State, the Mayor and Clerk are authorized to execute all documents necessary to consummate the transaction, including settlement and payment documents.
The motion carried at the May 2 meeting; roll call for the record shows Asay, Patrick and Emel voted yes on the packet of resolutions adopted at the meeting.
