Mannington committee adopts emergency budget resolution, approves routine contracts and expenditures

Committee members approved routine administrative items by roll call: adoption of the attached bill list for payment (computer checks beginning with #15670 and ending with #15704, payroll checks #5908–#5944); approval of minutes for Feb. 7, 2019 meetings; and authorization to sign an amended Pennsville Animal Pound agreement when it is received, following the solicitor’s review and Pennsville Township’s approval. Those motions were moved and seconded by Committee members and recorded as Asay — yes; Patrick — yes; Emel — yes.
The Committee also accepted a $950 quote from HMS Contractor to install curbing by the Emergency Management Building near a new light pole, authorized contracting with Land Engineering for $3,050 for survey work on a separate farmland preservation transaction (contingent on a signed contract), and authorized a title search/title insurance contract with West Jersey Title Agency for $839 (contingent on signed contract). The Tax Collector and CFO presented routine financial reports, with February receipts and reconciled cash balances noted. A list of 72 township-owned properties was reviewed for potential auction, with an estimated auction planned for May.
Committee member Patrick provided a Public Works update covering tree trimming, roadwork, snow-related repairs, seasonal equipment servicing, and plans to auction an old truck discovered in the reeds. During public comment, Eric Buzby, identified as the School Board representative, reported on negotiations with the paving company to correct puddling in the new school driveway and parking lot.
