Peoria County Farm Bureau seeks help after Expo closure as 4‑H events move across venues

Walsh said the Peoria County 4‑H community lost its longtime home when the Expo closed and that the county's youth exhibitions have been split across venues this year: non-livestock projects will be at Cedar Hills Baptist Church in Dunlap, smaller livestock (sheep, goats, some poultry) at the Stark County Fairgrounds, and pigs, cattle and rabbits on Friday at the primary exhibit location. She said the Farm Bureau cannot find a permanent home for the 4‑H program alone and asked for county assistance to secure a dedicated venue for those participants.
Walsh described the workload of livestock youth and urged support: "These kids are our future workforce," she said, and encouraged board members to attend the Peoria County 4‑H show and the fundraising auction at Ravers next Friday at 7 p.m., noting the Farm Bureau is a 501(c)(3) and donations are tax deductible.
She said she would remain after the meeting to answer questions from board members.
