The Wolfeboro Select Board on July 1 approved a range of routine and administrative items, including scholarship awards, appointments, procedural documents and a subcommittee for dock and wharf matters.
Mrs. Murray moved to award six Josiah Brown Scholarship applicants $6,000 each; the board approved the awards 5–0. The board accepted the resignation of Edie DesMarais from the Josiah Brown Trustees and appointed Emily Hastings as a trustee, forwarding the recommendation to the NH Charitable Trust Unit.
The board accepted updates to its rules of procedure and handbook (motion approved 4–0–1, with Mr. Thurston abstaining) and approved weekly manifests, tax refunds/abatements, temporary event permits and several intent-to-cut warrants as part of a bulk vote.
On the Select Board work plan, members debated whether the board or third parties should handle dock and wharf ordinance matters. Mr. Deshaies moved to create a volunteer docks and wharves ordinance subcommittee with two Select Board members (Deshaies and Senecal) and up to five citizen participants, with Mr. Muccio as staff support; the motion passed 3–2 (Senecal, Deshaies, O’Brien yes; Murray and Thurston no).
