Resident urges action on water testing; Select Board attaches analytical report to minutes

Derrick Brown, a Wolfeboro resident, told the Select Board on July 1 that he had paid for water testing of the Town Docks parking lot and said his results showed an E. coli level of 260. "I paid for testing June 15 of the water in Town Docks parking lot and received results... E. coli level in test at 260," Brown told the board during public input and asked that his document be attached to the meeting minutes.
The board voted 5–0 to attach Brown’s analytical report to the minutes on a motion by John Thurston and second by Mrs. Murray. Minutes record that the board accepted the submission and the report will be included with the meeting record.
Other residents at public input echoed concerns about standing water at the town docks and urged the town to find the source of leaks and ensure they are routed to the sewer system rather than storm drains. Sebastian Tordonato and Troy Glidden both expressed support for remediation work at the docks during their brief comments.
Why it matters: Brown’s claim of elevated E. coli levels and residents’ complaints about standing water raise potential public-health concerns. Attaching the analytical report to the public record preserves the results for town staff and for follow-up by the Department of Public Works and state agencies as appropriate.
