Select Board accepts community donations, approves trailer and dock permits

At its July 1 meeting, the Wolfeboro Select Board accepted two unanticipated donations and approved related permits and temporary uses.
Chair Paul O’Brien read a public notice and opened a hearing to accept a $5,000 donation from Yankee Pedlar Real Estate restricted to repairs at the Old Fire House Community Center. "No public comments were offered," the minutes state, and the board voted to accept the donation by voice vote.
The board also accepted a $2,000 donation from the Abenaki Water Ski Club for the donation of a dock in Back Bay. Bob Shilo of the club explained that updated decking costs raised the total estimated project cost to $9,950 and requested permission to place a trailer at a grassy location between the Foss Field parking lot and Bridge Falls Path from July 6–14 to facilitate tournament preparations without trenching for power. The Select Board approved both the donation acceptance and the temporary trailer placement by voice vote, 5–0.
Additionally, the board approved a 2026 barge permit for Northeast Dock & Barge (vote 4–0–1; Mr. Thurston abstained) and handled routine temporary event and manifest items as part of a bulk vote.
