Council awards initial sanitary sewer maintenance work; lowest responsive bid recommended

The Swisher City Council approved the recommendation Oct. 14 to proceed with the Fisher sewer maintenance project using the lowest responsive bid for an initial set of regions, city engineering staff reported.
Staff said two bidders were unresponsive (did not acknowledge addenda or use the required form); IPJET submitted a responsive bid and staff recommended proceeding with an initial four-region scope to evaluate maintenance needs, including camera work. An internal estimate was presented in the packet and staff said they would monitor maintenance before expanding the scope.
Council moved and seconded the staff recommendation and approved it on a roll-call vote. The contract increase and later change orders (if any) will be brought to council for approval.
