Bridgeport board approves sale of small township parcels to neighboring residents

The Bridgeport Charter Township Board approved two township property sales at its Oct. 1 meeting.
By motion the board accepted a $500 bid from Parris McKinney for parcel 09-11-5-08-3464-000 (3303 Sun Valley Dr.), described by the supervisor as a small parcel directly behind the buyer’s home. The board also approved a $750 bid from Eugene Schmidt to purchase five adjoining parcels (09-11-5-04-2116-000 through 09-11-5-04-2120-000) near Donna and Tatham. Supervisor Tausend noted the parcels adjoin a farm field and the purchaser intends to request zoning changes to agricultural uses.
Both motions passed by roll call with all trustees recorded as voting yes. The clerk will carry out the conveyances and the new owner may pursue a rezoning application through the township planning process.
