Selectmen review insurance estimates, culvert quotes and multiple permits

The Sugar Hill Selectmen reviewed several administrative and infrastructure items at their Dec. 22 meeting, including insurance estimates from Primex, cost quotes for a culvert project, a state septic approval, and a signed building permit for apartment renovations.
Town Administrator Jennifer Gaudette presented Primex figures showing $37,127 for property-liability coverage and $18,931 for workers' compensation to be included in upcoming budgets. Gaudette said she will discuss a separate $1,000 increase requested by the Franconia Notch Chamber of Commerce with chamber representatives to understand what events or services the extra funding would support.
Road Agent Glover reported two cost estimates for the culvert replacement on Post Road/Creamery Pond Road — $8,114 or $11,844 depending on culvert size — and one construction bid; the Selectmen asked him to obtain two additional quotes before the board proceeds.
The board noted receipt of New Hampshire Department of Environmental Services approval for a construction septic plan at 864 Lover's Lane (Map 214, Lot 13). The Selectmen also signed a building permit for Cavanaugh Holdings to renovate apartments at 580 Route 117 (Map 214, Lot 10) after coordinating permit conditions with Fire Chief Allan Clark and the fire marshal.
Separately, the board agreed to send reminder letters to property owners with building permits that have exceeded the two-year completion window.
