Brighton planning commissioners approve Pinball Saloon conditional use permit to allow alcohol sales

At its April 9, 2026 meeting, the City of Brighton Planning Commission approved a conditional use permit allowing alcohol sales at the Pinball Saloon. The applicant, Eric Brenner, presented the request and said permitting alcohol sales would help the business succeed. The motion to approve the resolution passed 5-0.
Associate Planner Kim Bauer presented staff findings and recommended approval, telling the commission the proposal was consistent with Land Use and Development Code Section 2.07B and the city’s Comprehensive Plan. No commissioners asked follow-up questions of staff, and no members of the public spoke during the public hearing.
Commissioner Kathryn LeDonne moved to approve the resolution to grant the conditional use permit; Commissioner Kylie Parks seconded the motion. Commissioners Mark Rawlings (Chair), Kathryn LeDonne, Kylie Parks, Stephanie Ohm and Kevin Weiland voted yes; the motion carried 5-0. Earlier in the meeting the commission also approved the minutes from its Feb. 26, 2026 meeting by a 5-0 vote (motion by Commissioner Stephanie Ohm, second by Commissioner Kathryn LeDonne).
Assistant Director Shannon McDowell used the reports portion of the agenda to note a joint study session with Brighton City Council scheduled for April 14, 2026, and reviewed recent items forwarded to council. The commission adjourned at 6:26 PM. Meeting minutes were recorded by Commission Secretary Jon Waines.
