Poseyville council opens cemetery mowing bids, delays award to verify paperwork

On Feb. 10 the Poseyville Town Council opened three bids for mowing services at the town cemetery and then delayed awarding the contract to allow staff to verify bidder documentation.
Council President Justin Rutledge read the submitted bids into the record: Seits Mowing & Pressure Washing LLC at $550 per mow with W9 and certificate of insurance provided; A Cut Above Landscape Solutions at $600 per mow with W9 and COI included; and Kohl Kutz Law Service at $1,350 per mow with a W9 on file but no certificate of insurance noted.
Council Member Randy Rankin moved to table any award until the March 10 council meeting so the clerk's office can confirm that all required paperwork is in order; Mike Baehl seconded and the motion passed unanimously. The clerk's office is responsible for confirming COIs and other procurement documentation before the award is reconsidered.
