At its July 9 meeting, the Show Low Unified District Governing Board approved a package of consent and routine administrative items covering personnel actions, contracts, athletics and community donations.
Items approved included classified transfers and resignations, certified employment contracts, corrections to placement chart J, approval of fall coaches and corresponding stipends for the 2026'27 school year, pre-approval of event workers, and out-of-state tournament travel for the girls soccer team to Gallup, New Mexico (Aug. 27'29). The board also approved a contract to cover costs associated with an ongoing special-education due-process hearing through an intergovernmental agreement with the Arizona Department of Education and approved district property disposals (IT equipment listed as outdated or broken).
Shaylee reported several donations from community partners: the Show Low Youth Foundation donated $4,216.74 for high school Cougar Day prizes and $2,500 for FBLA state competition; Highline Vending donated $171 to the high school; Chris and Matt Jones donated $227.79 for library books at NHE. The board thanked donors and approved the gifts.
Most motions were moved and seconded by board members and carried by unanimous vote as recorded in the meeting.
Why it matters: These routine approvals govern staffing, compliance and extracurricular activities heading into the school year and formalize community support and district operations.
What happens next: Administration will implement the approved personnel actions, apply stipend and payroll adjustments, process travel arrangements and complete surplus property disposal procedures.
