Custer County Board approves June disbursements, including large road and buy-back payments

Chairperson Blowers opened the Custer County Board of Supervisors meeting at 9:00 a.m. and the board approved a series of fund claims presented by the clerk. The board approved General Fund claims (General Fund totals reported as Salary $129,500.41; Social Security $9,394.84; Retirement $8,914.91; Expenses $5,565.18) on a motion by Supervisor Gibbons, seconded by Supervisor Kleeb; the motion passed on a roll call recorded as ayes-all.

The board next approved Road Fund claims (Salary $88,719.08; SS $6,595.98; Ret $5,520.57; Exp $742.86) on a motion by Supervisor Govier, seconded by Supervisor Markham; that motion also passed on a roll call vote recorded as ayes-all. Notable line items listed in the road claims included payments for fuel and materials and larger vendor invoices such as Cooperative Producers ($31,193.00), Oak Creek Engineering ($43,629.00) and Martin Marietta Materials ($15,622.45). The road claims and related vendor lines were presented in the claims packet for board approval.

Communications Fund claims (Salary $14,100.25; SS $1,021.29; Ret $951.77) were approved on a motion by Supervisor Markham, seconded by Supervisor Parliament; the motion passed on a roll-call vote recorded as ayes-all.

Separately, the board approved a Road Buy Back Fund payment to Ace Irrigation & Manufacturing in the amount of $92,394.05 on a motion by Supervisor Govier, seconded by Supervisor Markham; that motion passed on a roll-call vote recorded as ayes-all. The board also approved a small repurposing transfer from CDBG housing funds of $186.35 on a motion by Supervisor Parliament, seconded by Supervisor Markham.

All motions to approve claims were recorded in the minutes as passing on roll-call votes. The board subsequently proceeded to other agenda items and adjourned at 9:32 a.m.
