Coolidge council approves Trunk or Treat, appoints coordinator and OKs Gospel Fest request

The City of Coolidge council voted to approve several community events during its Oct. 28 meeting, including a Trunk or Treat at City Hall and a public Gospel Fest at the city park.
Council members unanimously approved holding Trunk or Treat in the Coolidge City Hall parking lot and appointed Melissa Johnson as event coordinator and contact person. The motion to approve the event and the appointment were made and seconded by council members and recorded as unanimously approved.
During public comment resident Freddie Johnson asked for permission to hold a Gospel Fest at the city park on Nov. 22, 2025, beginning at 10 a.m. The council voted to approve the request.
The police department presented a brief report earlier in the meeting listing calls for service and traffic enforcement statistics; the report did not lead to separate action during the meeting.
