Coolidge council approves minutes, bills and FLOST disbursement; holds executive session on personnel

Council member Elizabeth Leger moved to approve the July 2025 workshop and council meeting minutes; Tonia Gentry seconded, and the motion was recorded as unanimously approved. Melissa Johnson moved to approve the order of the agenda with a second from Tonia Gentry; that motion was also recorded as unanimously approved. The council approved bills to be paid on a motion moved by Melissa Johnson and seconded by W.C. Smith; the minutes state the motion was unanimously approved.
On new business the council unanimously approved a FLOST payment disbursement on a motion moved by Elizabeth Leger and seconded by Tonia Gentry. The minutes record these items as "unanimously approved." The transcript does not include roll-call tallies naming every vote for each motion beyond the mover/second and two recorded affirmative votes; the minutes state the final outcome as unanimous.
Interim Police Chief Mark Hickman presented the police report: 67 calls for service, 54 traffic stops and cited violations including 19 speeding citations, 10 tag violations (Flock generated), one failure to stop at a stop sign and one failure to stop at a traffic light. Recreation staff announced Coolidge Recreation Flag Football registration runs Aug. 4–Sept. 5, 2025, with evaluations on Sept. 8 and a season mid-September through end of October at Coolidge Recreation Park.
The council voted to enter an executive session to discuss personnel matters under O.C.G.A. § 50-14-4(b) (appointment, employment, compensation, hiring, disciplinary action or dismissal, or periodic evaluation or rating of a public officer or employee). The motion to enter executive session was moved by Elizabeth Leger and seconded by Melissa Johnson. After the executive session the meeting was adjourned by Mayor Diane H. Causey.
No ordinance readings, rezoning decisions or contract awards were recorded on the meeting minutes for Aug. 12, 2025.
