The Germantown Central School District Board of Education administered oaths of office and completed its organizational business at the board’s first meeting of the cycle.
The board appointed Lisa Shanley as district clerk and administered the oath for that office. Members then moved through nominations for board leadership: Andrea Foley was nominated and affirmed as board president and Linda Anderson was nominated and affirmed as vice president; the presiding member administered the oath for those officers.
Why it matters: Leadership and committee rosters determine who sets agendas and represents the board on operational issues for the coming year. Trustees made committee assignments for audit, building and grounds, policy and curriculum and confirmed that all trustees serve on the audit committee.
On routine business, the board approved the consent agenda by voice vote, which included typical procedural items and minutes. The board also resolved that Stacy Hilton and Catherine Casey may attend resolution sessions or mediations and are authorized to execute agreements with parents or guardians on behalf of the district, subject to board ratification by resolution within three business days of execution.
Board members raised a brief administrative point about an item labeled “AU” that appeared in the online packet; after confirming it was included in the consent agenda packet, trustees agreed it did not require separate action. The board also reiterated the regular meeting schedule for the 2026–27 school year (second Wednesdays at 6 p.m.; workshops fourth Wednesdays at 6 p.m.).
The meeting adjourned after the organizational business was completed.
