Council receives 2025 transit annual highlights; members praise service

The City of Fremont City Council received the transit department’s 2025 annual highlights on Feb. 10 and thanked staff for program improvements.
Transit manager Koda Abusing presented the year-in-review, describing a snapshot of operations and noting decreases in some cash balances driven by construction and utility operations. Councilmembers praised the transit program’s growth and operational choices; Councilwoman Whitefield said she appreciated the program and specifically commended combining trips from housing towers to Walmart to reduce duplicate runs. Councilman Von Barron called the service "one of the more valuable services that Fremont offers," saying it reflects the city’s care for its least-capable residents.
After staff questions, Councilman Jensen moved and a councilmember seconded a motion to receive the transit report; the council recorded six votes in favor and the report was received. No public comments were made on the item.
The transit manager said he is available for follow-up questions and the council encouraged continuing monitoring of program growth and efficiency.
