At the consent‑agenda item to receive animal control reports, Jody Sanders (speaker 2) noted the city had received corrected reports from Forever Homes Incorporated. Martha Vang (speaker 11) explained to council that much of the facility’s reporting and administrative work is volunteer driven and that the timing of entries can create duplications and mismatches in monthly spreadsheets.
Vang said revised counts show October end counts of 48 dogs and 94 felines and walked council through the November summary showing 33 dog intakes and 31 outcomes (for example, 9 returned to owners and 9 adoptions listed). She acknowledged the system’s limitations and that staff frequently reconcile records after volunteers or employees are interrupted while entering data.
Council members pressed for greater clarity in the reports. Councilman Von Barron (speaker 17) asked whether revisions mean future reports will be reliable; Vang said they should be and that Forever Homes is continuing reconciliation work for December and January. Several members recommended a shorter, plain‑language summary page to make month‑to‑month changes easier to follow.
The council voted to receive the reports.
