Drummond board approves appointments and several ordinances; schedules special meeting for pavilion bids

The Town of Drummond Board on April 15 approved routine minutes, appointed key town officers and adopted several ordinances while scheduling a special meeting to review pavilion construction bids.
In a roll of routine business, Supervisor Scott McKinney moved and Supervisor Jeff Hurula seconded approval of the minutes from March 11 and March 19, 2025; the motion carried. The board next approved payment of checks numbered 45766 through 45798, including related debits and direct deposits.
The board approved two personnel resolutions: a motion by Jeff Hurula, seconded by Scott McKinney, carried to appoint Andrew Tuttle as Town Clerk for a three-year term (Resolution 20250415). The board also approved Pamela Kalies as Town Treasurer for a three-year term (Resolution 20250415A).
On ordinances, the board adopted Ordinance 20250415A, which establishes regulations for placement and dimensions of mailboxes, parcel delivery boxes and newspaper delivery boxes on public rights-of-way and sets a reimbursement policy for boxes damaged by town equipment. The motion to adopt the mailbox ordinance was moved by Hurula and seconded by McKinney and carried.
The board also approved Ordinance 20250415 amending the Town's Seasonal Weight Restrictions Ordinance to exempt the north 400 feet of North Lake Owen Drive from seasonal weight restrictions so that shipments may be made to a business on that stretch. The motion by McKinney, seconded by Hurula, carried.
Regarding zoning, the board considered an after-the-fact permit request from property owner Curtis Granzow for an RV placement exceeding four months at 12525 County Highway N. The board moved to recommend approval to Bayfield County Planning & Zoning contingent on a privy permit application; the motion carried.
The board set a special meeting for April 29, 2025, at 4:00 p.m. in the Civic Center to consider bids for construction of a new pavilion. The regular May meeting was scheduled for May 13, 2025, at 6:30 p.m.
Treasurer Pamela Kalies reported town account balances as of March 31, 2025: Checking $485,207.31, Savings $371.09 and LGIP $82,270.07. The meeting adjourned at 8:43 p.m.
