The motion to approve the contract was made by Council Member Matt Roesler and seconded by Robert Weishapple. The council approved the contract on a roll-call vote of five ayes and zero nays.
Public Works Director Matt Gilles asked that a separate construction contract for a water filtration project be tabled; the council agreed and removed that item from action for further review.
Administrator Tracy Carlson and Gilles previously met with financial advisors at Ehlers to review financing options for upcoming projects, including Madison Street, and Carlson reported the city assessor will begin a revaluation process in April. No funding source or project timeline beyond the contract award was specified in the meeting minutes.
The council’s formal action was limited to awarding the construction contract; officials said further details on schedule and financing will follow through staff reports and committee review.
