Elk Mound board approves changes to false-alarm ordinance and fee schedule

On a motion by Trustee Pat Lien, seconded by Trustee Pat Hahn, the Board approved revisions to Section 5-3-6 (Police/Fire False Alarms) and Section 1-3-1 (Fee Schedule). The revisions remove the words "or occupant" from Sec. 5-3-6(e), remove the phrase "not to exceed $500" from the fee schedule language and change a label from "location" to "property owner." The Board adopted an escalating fee schedule for false alarms: first incident—no charge; second—$250; third—$500; fourth—$1,000.
The motion carried; the minutes do not record a roll-call tally. The changes are recorded in the minutes as adopted ordinance language; the Clerk-Treasurer's office or the municipal code will reflect the updated text once codified.
