The Board of Trustees for the Village of Elk Mound voted May 19 to approve replacement of the Village Park sign by the Elk Mound Lions Club and to fund concrete work for the sign base at a cost not to exceed $7,500 from park funds.
The motion to approve the sign replacement was made by Trustee Terry Stamm and seconded by Trustee Joyce Price; the motion carried. Village President Tim Benjamin presided over the meeting and Clerk/Treasurer Karin Wolf verified that notice of the meeting had been posted.
Property & Finance Committee member Cynthia Abraham had earlier reported the committee met to discuss the sign; the board took the committee recommendation up later in the agenda and authorized the concrete work to support the Lions Club’s replacement sign.
The board did not record additional conditions on the award; next steps for installation and timing were not specified in the meeting minutes.
