Public St., assisted with sewer work at 1025 Partridge Ave., handled election setup and cleanup, cleaned the library basement, hung senior banners, transported the police squad for repairs/graphics, performed bowling alley maintenance, and removed dead ash trees; the county chipper is scheduled for Friday.
Chief Chris Thibado and Darren Ekholm reported the Elmwood Police Department responded to 29 calls for service in March, attended court hearings and training, issued four citations, and received a donated 12-gauge shotgun from Sovran USA/Akar American LLC; the Pierce County Sheriff's Office responded to 15 calls for service in Elmwood in March.
Clerk/Treasurer Holly Malaszuk reported the Spring Election on April 1 had 229 voters, that election equipment is with the county for maintenance, final TID payoff amounts have been received (distribution details pending), and that Lexi will manage the office during Holly’s medical leave (starting the upcoming Wednesday through May 1). SunnyLink, the Village’s new IT provider, has been onsite for wiring and computer updates; staff attended a cybersecurity grant webinar and are exploring grant eligibility. The office will be closed May 9 for a WMCA seminar in Hudson.
The Board approved payment of the bills by roll call on a motion by Dawn Toth and second by Mark Wolf; the transcript notes the motion carried but does not provide numeric tallies. No further departmental action items or formal votes were recorded in the meeting minutes.
