The Village of Elk Mound Board of Trustees voted Nov. 18 to approve the village’s 2025 General Fund budget and the Water/Sewer Utility budget, and to raise sewer utility rates by 5% effective Dec. 15, 2024.
Trustees Cynthia Abraham and Pat Lien moved and seconded the General Fund budget approval, which passed. Trustees Joyce Price and Tim Benjamin moved and seconded approval of the Water/Sewer Utility budget with an amendment reflecting a 5% increase in sewer revenues; that motion also carried. Separately, trustees approved a 5% adjustment to sewer rates, with Trustees Tim Benjamin and Cynthia Abraham leading the motion; the board recorded the effective date as Dec. 15, 2024.
The meeting record shows routine fiscal items approved as well: combined checks 33058–33115 and direct deposits V3835–V3854 totaling $105,236.19 were approved for the general fund and water/sewer utility. The board also approved Resolution 24-4 to increase the Elk Mound Fire District budget for 2025 and authorized the annual Dunn County real-estate tax-collection agreement and a three-year assessor-maintenance agreement with Bowmar Appraisal.
No roll-call tallies beyond “motion carried” are recorded in the minutes for the individual motions. Where the minutes list movers and seconders, the record records the motions as carried but does not provide a numerical vote tally.
The board set the December regular meeting for Wednesday, Dec. 18, 2024 at 6:30 p.m. and adjourned at 6:52 p.m.
Why it matters: The sewer-rate adjustment and the adopted 2025 budgets set the village’s operating parameters and utility-revenue expectations for the coming year; the minutes do not detail budget line items or the projected revenue change in dollars, only the approved percentage change and overall voucher total.
