At the Village of Endeavor meeting on June 9, Police Chief J. Flannery updated trustees on several operational public-safety matters and asked the board to consider a change to the street parking rule.
Chief J. Flannery reported the village installed a new drug drop box in the municipal building lobby, funded through a grant secured in partnership with Marquette County. He asked trustees to note the new disposal option as part of local efforts to reduce controlled-substance disposal risks.
The chief said the police department is looking for a towing company to work with the village and mentioned ongoing issues with a village dog situation. He also expressed appreciation that the board assessed a fee for hall renters who decorate after 10 p.m.
As a policy matter, Chief Flannery asked trustees to consider changing the street parking ordinance from year-round no parking to a seasonal restriction: no parking Nov. 1 through April 15. The proposal was presented for trustees’ consideration and was not acted on during the meeting. Any ordinance change would require future formal action by the board.
No public comment was recorded on these items at the meeting.
