Mayor George P. Hutnick told the council July 27 that Predmore Road requires replacement of drain pipes, spillways and associated engineering work, with a preliminary estimated cost of about $180,000. He said the borough has approximately $315,000 in Littell wastewater funds designated for projects of this type and proposed using that balance to finance the Predmore Road repairs without seeking loans or grants.
Council members discussed the need to proceed, staffing constraints for Streets and Roads work and the desirability of addressing the repairs now. Mayor Hutnick asked whether the council was comfortable moving forward; the minutes state “everyone agreed.” The minutes do not record a formal roll‑call vote authorizing expenditure but record consensus to begin the project and the council’s readiness to proceed.
The council also discussed related drainage projects and past maintenance such as catch basin cleaning on Plant Street and Brooks Flat. The administrative steps to contract the work and manage engineering will follow council authorization and normal procurement processes recorded by the clerk’s office.
