The Ogdensburg Mayor and Council approved several items on the consent agenda during their July 27, 2020 virtual meeting, including a county mutual aid agreement, a revised strategic plan for a Municipal Alliance grant and temporary stipends for two borough employees.
Mayor George P. Hutnick and Borough Attorney Robert McBriar outlined Resolution 63‑2020, authorizing the mayor and clerk to execute a mutual aid and assistance agreement with Sussex County to coordinate prevention, preparedness, response and recovery for domestic incidents; the resolution cites relevant state regulations and emergency statutes and establishes the agreement through Dec. 31, 2023. The council approved the consent agenda by roll call: yeas from Alvarez, Nardini, O'Dell and Slater; Cruz and Nasisi were recorded absent.
As part of the same consent package, the council authorized submission of a revised strategic plan for the Ogdensburg Municipal Alliance grant for fiscal 2021. The minutes list the grant breakdown as DEDR $732.00, a cash match of $183.00 and $548.00 in in‑kind contributions; the council also acknowledged the administrative compliance and audit requirements tied to the grant.
Resolution 65‑2020 provided pandemic‑related stipends for two employees who took on extra responsibilities during the COVID‑19 emergency. The resolution awards a one‑time payment of $2,000 to each of Robin Hough (Borough Clerk) and Kim Cucci (Senior Payroll Clerk) for work performed April through July 2020, and a $200 weekly stipend to each beginning Aug. 1, 2020 until the additional duties are no longer required or Oct. 31, 2020, whichever comes sooner. The resolution references Executive Order No. 103 in describing the state of emergency that created the additional workload.
The council did not record any nays on the consent agenda items. The resolutions and the grant submission now move to the administrative steps required by the clerk and mayor for execution.
