Evansville council approves aldermanic committee assignments and multiple citizen appointments

Erika Stuart was named chair of the Public Safety Committee with Ald. Chuck Boyce and Ald. Bill Hurtley as committee members. Additional assignments include representation on the Evansville Fire District Board, Economic Development Committee, Park and Recreation Board, Redevelopment Authority and Historic Preservation Commission.
The Council then approved citizen appointments by motion of Corridon, seconded by Droster (motion passed 7-0). Appointments include Brian Smith and Gwen Clendenning to the Eager Free Public Library Board of Trustees (three-year terms expiring 2029); Mary Anne Alt to the Board of Review (five-year term expiring 2031); Jon Alling to the Economic Development Committee (three-year term expiring 2029); Ashley Massman to fill an unexpired term ending 2027; Victoria Norton and Steve Christens to the Historic Preservation Commission (two-year terms expiring 2028); Ben Ladick to the Housing Authority Committee (five-year term expiring 2031); Lyman Fuson and Sue Merritt to the Park & Recreation Board (three-year terms expiring 2029); Ry Thompson to fill a term ending 2027 and also appointed to the Redevelopment Authority (five-year term expiring 2031); John Gishnock to the Plan Commission (three-year term expiring 2029); Rachel Davis to the Police Commission (five-year term expiring 2031); and Ken Updike and Sarah Krause to the Zoning Board of Appeals (three-year terms expiring 2029).
Those appointments populate the city27s advisory boards and statutory commissions and set term expirations for future vacancy planning.
