Evansville OKs $306,550 truck purchase and awards $959,266 substation contract

Alderperson Ben Corridon moved to approve purchasing a Digger Derrick truck from Custom Truck for $306,550; Alderperson Lita Droster seconded and the motion passed by roll call 8-0. During the municipal services discussion Corridon noted resident concerns about final results of recent road work on Mill/Railroad Streets.
The council also awarded MJ Electric the labor bid for the Union Townline Substation construction in the amount of $959,266. That motion, made by Corridon and seconded by Alderperson Erika Stuart, passed by roll call 8-0.
Jeff Stevens raised concerns about the bid process and the potential for additional costs to outfit the Digger Derrick truck; the council did not record a follow-up vote on those procurement-process concerns during the meeting.
