The Frederic Village Board on June 9 approved Amendment No. 1 to the Wisconsin Avenue project budget after a project update from MSA. Drew Lindh of MSA told the board the project may exceed its original budget and recommended increasing the budget to provide flexibility for grant and loan constraints. The motion to approve Amendment No. 1 was made by P Swenson and seconded by J Peterson; the vote was recorded as carried.
MSA also confirmed that Elm Street at Wisconsin will be open during Family Days to allow the planned closing of Oak at Wisconsin for a street dance. Board members and staff discussed Family Days logistics and agreed to develop a Special Use Permit process for future events; there were no Chamber representatives at the meeting to present requests for this year.
By approving Amendment No. 1, the board gave staff and the project consultant authority to proceed with the revised budget posture. The board did not provide a line-item budget in the meeting minutes and did not record a roll-call tally for the approval beyond “Vote: Carried.”
