The Zoning and Planning Committee reviewed Ordinance 35 on July 22 and noted the text dates to 1987 and is not currently available in the Trax enforcement system, which committee members said makes issuing tickets or otherwise enforcing the rule harder.
Members discussed complaints about leaf burning and smoke and recorded a possible administrative step of reconsidering a $3 permit fee to regulate burning. The committee asked staff to contact affected parties and to bring suggested edits to Ordinance 35 to the next meeting for further review.
No fee or ordinance changes were adopted at the meeting; the matter was scheduled for reconsideration and staff follow-up.
