The Common Council of the City of Fennimore voted unanimously Jan. 6 to adopt the 2025 budget and establish the city's tax levy under Resolution 2024-12-16A.
A public hearing on the budget opened at 5:31 p.m. and closed at 5:33 p.m. During the hearing, the clerk discussed General Ledger updates and payroll changes to the draft budget. After the hearing, Councilor Streif moved to adopt Resolution 2024-12-16A; Councilor Adam seconded, and the resolution passed on an 8-0 roll call vote.
The adoption formalizes the spending plan and levy for the coming year. At the same meeting the council approved claims totaling $392,753.75 with city bills of $289,353.27, utility bills of $87,707.74 and sewer bills of $15,505.74. The council also reported gross payroll for the pay period ending Dec. 27, 2024, of $71,797.96 (City $42,130.15; Utility $20,685.05; Sewer $8,982.76).
Councilors who seconded or moved motions and the roll call vote were recorded in the minutes. The adoption followed standard procedure: notice of the public hearing was presented as required by Section 19.84 of the Wisconsin Statutes.
The council adjourned at 6:06 p.m. after completing the agenda.
