Gilmanton hires music teacher and food‑service staff; accepts library/resignation

The Gilmanton School District Board of Education approved several personnel actions at its Dec. 18 meeting, including the hiring of a district music teacher and food‑service staff, and the acceptance of a library/custodial resignation.
Jackson Serum moved to hire Victoria Shoemaker as the district music teacher; Lance Peterson seconded the motion and it carried 5‑0. Shoemaker had been serving as a long‑term substitute at the middle/high school and indicated she is available to add elementary music instruction beginning in January.
In food service, the board approved hiring Hope Turner as lead cook and Jasmine Schneider as cook's assistant; Jackson Serum moved and Tammi Olson seconded the motion, which carried 5‑0. The minutes note Schneider has been training since Thanksgiving and expressed interest in assisting with the after‑school program.
Tammi Olson moved to accept the resignation of Amy Moy from the library/custodial support staff role; Lance Peterson seconded and the motion carried 5‑0. Kory Rud said interviews are underway to fill the vacancy and action is expected at the January meeting.
All hires were approved unanimously by the board at the meeting.
