The Village of Gilman board approved a package of licenses and routine measures at its June 11 regular meeting.
Trustee Russell Baker moved to approve Resolution 2025‑04 to issue Class A and Class B liquor licenses and cigarette licenses for the 2025–26 licensing year; Trustee Ericka Motte seconded. The motion carried 6‑0‑1 with Trustee Dee Bornheimer recorded as abstaining. The licenses cover the period July 1, 2025, through June 30, 2026.
The board also approved operator (bartender) licenses for the same licensing period on a unanimous vote after a motion by Trustee Cheryl Rosemeyer, seconded by Trustee Karen James.
Separately, the board approved a request from the Development Committee to close 3rd Avenue south of Main Street for a farmers market beginning June 19, contingent on approval from Gilman Cheese. Trustee Karen James moved the road‑closure approval; Trustee Russell Baker seconded and the motion passed. Police Chief Tom Tallier was instructed to notify Gilman Cheese about the closure and coordinate truck movements.
Earlier in the meeting trustees approved minutes for several May and June meetings and voted 7‑0 to accept pooled cash and vouchers covering SSCU and Forward account ranges and vouchers V1284–V1317, among other routine payments. The board also reapproved the village’s CMOM report for wastewater management without changes.
Meeting business concluded with scheduling items for upcoming committee meetings and adjournment at 7:39 p.m.
The board did not set additional licensing conditions during the meeting; the clerk had noted several budget line items already exceeding 100 percent and the village will continue routine administrative oversight.
