Public works report: Gilman water and sewer reported stable; WPA to discuss WWTF upgrade

Public Works Director Dave Kroeplin told the Village of Gilman board on Sept. 10 that the village's water and sewer systems were operating within normal parameters for the month and that routine maintenance and scheduled work are underway.
Kroeplin said cold patching on Gilman Drive was completed and that sludge removal at the treatment plant had been scheduled with Decker. He reported that WPA will meet with village staff to discuss a planned WWTF system upgrade. He also noted that the township of Aurora completed ditch cutting and park/campground tree trimming and that "William and Reid" calibrated the lift-station and treatment-plant flow meters. The board discussed culvert work and mowing along Heagle and 7th Avenue.
Kroeplin's update was informational; no approvals or contract awards for WWTF work were recorded at the meeting, though WPA's forthcoming discussion was noted as the next step. The board approved a small gravel purchase elsewhere on the agenda to support street maintenance.
The board asked staff to follow up on the WWTF upgrade discussion with WPA and to return any contract recommendations to the board for consideration.
