Gilman board approves minutes, vouchers, leases, recycling plan and committee slate; most votes recorded 6-0-1

The Village Board of Gilman on April 9 handled a package of routine and administrative actions, approving minutes, vouchers, leases and committee appointments.
Trustee Russell Baker moved to approve minutes from March meetings; Trustee Mark Person seconded and the motion passed. Trustee Cheryl Rosemeyer moved to approve vouchers and bills (pooled cash and listed warrants); Trustee Mark Person seconded. The vouchers motion carried on a roll-call vote of 6-0-1 with Trustee Robert Preston recorded absent.
The board approved Resolution 2025-02 (Depository) on a 6-0-1 vote after a motion by Trustee Russell Baker and second by Trustee Ericka Motte. Trustees approved the annual DNR Recycling Compliance Assurance Plan (motion by Trustee Cheryl Rosemeyer, second Mark Person), which the clerk noted is required to apply for recycling grant funds.
Trustee Dee Bornheimer moved and Trustee Russell Baker seconded approval of an updated parking lease for Romig's reflecting new lease amounts from the railroad; the motion carried 6-0-1 (Preston absent). Trustee Russell Baker moved and Trustee Dee Bornheimer seconded approval of two operator's licenses for Gilman Retail/Snak Atak after background checks by Police Chief Tom Tallier; the licenses were approved.
President Jane DeStaercke moved to approve the 2025-2026 committee lists and Trustee Cheryl Rosemeyer seconded. Trustee Cheryl Rosemeyer nominated Ericka Motte as Vice President; DeStaercke seconded and the nomination was approved. Trustee Russell Baker moved to use Crexi to promote the industrial park land and Trustee Ericka Motte seconded; the board approved using Crexi at no cost to the village. Trustee Russell Baker moved to approve an Arbor Day proclamation; Trustee Dee Bornheimer seconded and the board set the Arbor Day event for April 25, 2025 at 12:30 p.m. with the fourth-grade class at Gilman School.
The meeting ended after the board set committee dates and adjourned at 7:01 p.m.
