The Mills Planning and Zoning Commission recommended approval of a lot consolidation proposal from Wyoming Classical Academy, creating a single roughly 20.52‑acre tract to support future campus development.
Casey, planning staff, described the request as a vacation and replat of multiple lots into one tract to prevent buildings from crossing lot lines and to facilitate coordinated campus growth. “Staff finds the proposed Wyoming Classical Academy lot vacation and replat consistent with the purpose and intent of the UA district,” Casey said.
Commissioners asked technical questions about drainage and mosquito control. Casey said drainage issues on Lovenspider Lane had been addressed by upsizing piping and that the detention pond was designed to be dry most of the time; mosquito abatement in Mills is handled by the County Weed & Pest Division. Commissioners also asked whether athletic fields or a full K–12 campus were planned; staff said no site plan for athletics had yet been submitted and that this consolidation is an early step to enable such planning.
The commission opened public comment, heard none, and voted to approve the lot consolidation application consistent with staff recommendations. The recommendation will move to city council for final ordinance action as required.
The consolidation does not change zoning or increase residential density; staff reported fire, water and sewer review found no capacity constraints.
