The Parks Advisory Committee on Oct. 29 reviewed schedules and funding for multiple park renovation projects, including Springs and Bair parks, and confirmed that HB355 funds will support a vault toilet at Radar Park.
Liaison Pattie Berg detailed the implementation plan and budgets: an ADA van parking pad at McStravick Court is estimated at about $3,800 (including concrete) and an accessible path at Springs Park is estimated at about $1,700. Playground equipment and Steve’s installs were expected around Nov. 15. Berg said a game camera—purchased with T-Mobile funds—was installed Oct. 24 and that drone photos will be obtained from the sheriff’s office to document pre-renovation usage.
The committee noted that Radar Park’s vault-toilet installation is scheduled for July/August 2025 and that the project needs to be under contract by Dec. 30, 2024; the mayor is involved in that timeline. The liaison report also emphasized staying on budget and clarifying responsibilities so projects run with minimal hitches.
Committee members discussed signage and mat purchases for playgrounds and confirmed orders were targeted for the day after the meeting.
