Gilman police report demolition of nuisance trailers, new placements pending; ADA sidewalk limits sign options

Police Chief Tom Tallier presented the department's written January report and told trustees that after issuing notices and meeting with the manager of the mobile home courts, three public‑nuisance trailers were demolished. He said the courts have four new trailers arriving; once pads are completed there will be a total of seven new units.
Tallier also addressed permitting and cost issues for a permanent lighted sign. He said the village does not have ADA‑compliant sidewalks in the area where a permanent sign would sit and, citing the City of Medford's experience, noted that installing underground utility work (bore under the road) could cost a minimum of about $2,000. As an interim solution Tallier said the department will deploy four movable street signs funded by the grant rather than immediately pursuing a permanent sign that would require costly road work.
The board received the report; no vote was taken on signage or sidewalk work at the meeting.
