West Yellowstone council approves two pickups, $3.84M claims payment for wastewater project

Public works explained the need to replace a problem-plagued 2018 Dodge that had required substantial repairs (one motor replacement cited at about $14,000) and presented a 2025 Chevrolet Silverado 3500 package priced at $53,660.25; the council moved, seconded and approved the purchase by voice vote. The council also approved a separate purchase order for a 2017 Silverado priced at $27,529.25.
Council then reviewed claims totaling $3,844,034.53; staff said roughly $1.3 million of that total was for equipment tied to the wastewater-treatment project and identified the claim as payout number 14 to the contractor RSCI. A motion to approve the claims was made and approved by voice vote.
Finance staff noted the town has drawn $13,437,869 on wastewater-treatment plant bonds (with $33,750,000 total availability) and is monitoring coverage requirements (110%) as it plans future draws for remaining work and upcoming projects such as an 80-acre development and lift-station improvements.
