At the May 11 meeting the Hollis Select Board approved multiple routine administrative actions and addressed two contested abatement applications.
Appointments: The board unanimously approved Aurelio Perry as an alternate member of the Heritage Commission (term to 04/30/2028), Tim Morgan as a regular Heritage Commission member (term to 04/30/2029) and Scott Rubeski as an alternate Trails Committee member (term to 04/30/2027). Motions carried by voice vote.
Abatements: Two 2025 tax‑abatement applications were on the agenda with staff recommending denial. After reading memos from MRI and an email from attorney Drescher regarding statewide education property tax issues, the board voted against the motion to approve the abatements; the chair recorded that the abatements were denied.
Warrants and minutes: The board approved payroll, accounts payable and HSA warrants (amounts read into the record) and approved both public and nonpublic minutes of April 27; the nonpublic minutes will remain sealed. Finally, the board voted to enter a nonpublic session under RSA 91‑A:3 II(d) for land acquisition; the motion carried.
