Winifred accepts donated technology funds, approves cloud hosting for treasurer

At the April 10 meeting the Winifred Town Council reviewed final estimates for technology upgrades at town facilities and approved both acceptance of donated funds and an annual cloud-hosting purchase.
Dan Tungesvick presented quotes: the library estimate was $5,151.04; combined Community Center, office and museum work totaled $31,340.00; and an outside display screen was quoted at $16,515.00. After discussion, Kristin Carlstrom moved to accept donated funds from Norm Asbjornson through the Central Montana Foundation and to add one more large screen downstairs to the project; Cody Isom seconded and the motion passed.
The council also approved buying cloud hosting from Black Mountain Software at a cost of $1,000 per year for use on the treasurer's laptop to support financial systems. During the presentation Tungesvick noted installation plans including placing the router downstairs and constructing a false wall around electrical equipment and the router.
Council members said the upgrades aim to improve connectivity and public access at the library and Community Center, and that donated funds will be used to reduce direct budgetary impact on town accounts.
