At the March 11 meeting, council members discussed planned technology upgrades for town facilities following a request from Norman Asbjornson. Guests Dan Tungevich and Kevin Amende are collecting quotes and asked the council for input on equipment choices.
Planned upgrades in the minutes include museum security improvements and a projector/screen with a label maker and printer; a book cover machine and a curved desk monitor for the library; curved desktop monitors and a large wall-mounted TV with speaker for the town office to support conference meetings; and for the community center a large TV (to replace the cork board), kitchen upgrades (new sinks, cooler, dishwasher), upgraded plug-ins and a better sound system. The minutes also note a proposed reader board for the front of the building and a plan to move the router upstairs and run ethernet; the clerk was tasked to contact Triangle and arrange a meeting with Dan so work can proceed.
Dan also discussed building a town website in the future and told the mayor he would consider managing it and updating the reader board; the council left the matter open for further discussion and collection of firm quotes.
